MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

HELD IN HAMON PARISH CENTRE, NUMURKAH.

THURSDAY 17th NOVEMBER 2011.

 

1.    Opening & Welcome.

Fr Kim Benton opened the meeting with a prayer.

2.    Present

Fr Kim Benton,  John Stammers, Heather Stammers, Keith Schier, Margaret Mitchell, Robyn Pendlebury,  Merle Cobbledick,  Ron Cobbledick, Judy James, Bev Patrick, Rob Elliott, Wendy Watson, Lou Hamon.

MOTION: “That the apologies be accepted”.

4.     Confirmation of Minutes

MOTION: “That the Minutes of the Parish Council held 27th October  2011 be confirmed as a true and correct record of the proceedings of the meeting”.

Moved: Margaret Mitchell.                    Seconded: Judy James.                                   Agreed.

 

Clergy Stipend: Following adoption of Warden’s recommendation by Parish Council, the motion was put.

MOTION: “That the Parish Council move that the Clergy Stipend be increased to 100% of Melbourne Diocese next year”.

5        Business Arising from previous minutes.

5.1  Hand rail chancel steps St. Georges. Pending.

5.2  Sale of St Paul’s Harmonium. To be viewed next weekend by interested party.

5.3  Switchboards. Ian Mayberry and Troy McKindley to provide quotes.

5.4   Hand Rails to Rectory doors. Pending.

5.5         Monthly income & expenditure figures in pew sheet.

5.6         Expressions of interest for Assistant Organist for Parish. Advertisement to be drawn up for placement in December.

5.9   Replacement of doors at St George’s. Awaiting a further quote.

Rochester Visits: Discussion on continuing the exchange of visits into the new year on fifth             Sundays, as the visits had been one of the highlights of this year.

St. George’s: 11.1 Carpet in Parish Centre to be cleaned.

John Decker to be approached to advise on carpet join.

12.3. Carpet to be cleaned after hirer vacates for the year.

12.4. 125th Anniversary Project to re-seal the timber floor in church.

12.5. Mothers Union AGM today. Christmas break-up 29th November.

14.1. Parish Council Christmas Dinner on 15th December. 6.30pm for 7pm. Cost $30 per head.
